Te Puke is located about 10km from Papamoa and also in close proximity to Mount Maunganui, Tauranga, Maketu and several other coastal towns. Te Puke is also located near the popular Papamoa Hills, and the name 'Te Puke' means 'The Hill'. A good 40+ minute walk will take you to the summit offering spectacular views over the region. Te Puke is known as the Kiwifruit Capital of the World. The Te Puke region grows most of New Zealand's Kiwifruit, alongside a strong Avocado and Dairy industry. Te Puke Township is thriving and offers a variety of shops, food outlets and service providers big and small. Jellicoe Street, the main street has a boulevard lined with native puriri trees. The Heritage Walkway leads to Jubilee Park where there is a playgroup and new skateboard park. Parking in Te Puke is free and convenient and there are many local attractions worth the visit. Make Te Puke your next destination and you will want to come back for more.


Trails

Papamoa to Paengaroa Cycle Trail. The new cycle path next to the TEL is a good ride even for little legs. To get there, head toward the Kaituna River on Bell Road. There is access just at the motorway bridge. The bike path takes you through our rural country-side crossing the Kaituna river and onto Paengaroa.
Mount Otanewainuku. Several scenic walking tracks offering views and a waterfall.
Papamoa Hills
and Otawa Scenic Reserve. Take a stroll through the farmland and enjoy the panoramic coastal views.

Art

School Murals. A walk through town reveals murals painted by our local schools and displayed by Creative Te Puke.

Hertiage Walkway. Heritage Walkway features a series of pillars displaying art and stories from the various cultural groups who have come to settle in Te Puke.
